We are deep into our third cold winter. The up side is that exotic pests are down and will continue to be in decline with bitter temperatures. The downside is that we feel weary. A colleague today queried the ice-filled skies, “Where is spring?” I didn’t remind her that we are not even yet one month into winter. Sixty eight days of official winter to go!
But, the sun stays up longer in the evenings and we can see until about 5:30 p.m. Still very dark in the morning. Sun rises about 7:33 a.m.
Today has felt like a New England day. While I am not quite sure what that is or means, it felt calm; the drive up Rosedale Rd. SE, formerly known as Turkey Hill Road SE, the snow was unsullied. A wooden fence lined the way, Indian Creek gurgled along under the ice, the car chugged up the snow packed road. Very pretty.
